Founded on March 9, 1908, Internazionale Milan—commonly known as “I Nerazzurri” (the “Black and Blues”)—is a powerhouse of Serie A, dazzling fans at the historic Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (aka San Siro) in Milano.
Inter Milan has two fierce rivalries. The first is with AC Milan, their hometown rivals. Their thrilling face-off, the “Derby della Madonnina” (a nod to Milan’s massive cathedral) is always one of football’s most anticipated matches, a clash saturated in blue, black, and red.
Inter’s other fierce rivalry is against Juventus. When the two play, it is known as the Derby dell’Italia, given that the two are Italy’s most successful clubs.
Fun fact: Both Inter Milan and AC Milan share the same home stadium—San Siro, inaugurated in 1926. Officially named Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in honor of the legendary Milanese footballer, the stadium is traditionally referred to as San Siro by fans.
